BuildCalc is a construction calculator that has been improved based on feedback from professionals around the world. It offers more functionality, providing advanced features for tasks such as layout of railing and staircase balusters, stair layout with dimensioned drawings, and calculation of materials needed for fencing. The interactive functions make it easier to input values and update results automatically.

In addition to the enhanced functionality, BuildCalc offers more answers by allowing users to define custom sizes for bricks, blocks, tiles, drywall sheets, footers, shingles, and sheathing. It also simplifies the process of cutting hip roof rafters by providing results suitable for miter saw or circular saw with a hand-held protractor. Unlike other construction calculators, BuildCalc includes several unique features like sheathing angles, purlin angles, gable area, backing angles, plan angles, and rough vs. finished stair layout dimensions.

To reduce complexity and hassle, BuildCalc provides all results in a convenient list format with just one or two key taps. It also allows users to save results with custom labels for easy recall at a later time. The keystrokes have been streamlined to minimize errors and provide on-the-spot help when needed. The "Room Mode" feature calculates the amount of drywall or masonry required based on stored room dimensions.

The latest version of BuildCalc introduces advanced stairs, baluster, and hip/valley functions, offering even more detailed results including dimensioned drawings of stringers and finished staircases. These drawings can be emailed or printed as needed.
